In the last few years there has been a massive increase in the number of interior designers catering to solely bedroom designs.
Given below we have some trendy, fresh and creative designs for you all.
Contemporary Bedroom Decors
The prevalent contemporary designs are way different from the age old designs which were in vogue for bedrooms two to three decades back. The flooring becomes the most significant part in these and is usually done in large single coloured tiles or single coloured grass cloth.
The room designs are kept minimalistic without a lot of decorative items cluttering the space. Five to seven decorative objects are placed to decorate the room. Around two bedside tables, an integral bedside lamp, a clock, designer lamp shades, some wall hanging pieces and a few other showpiece items are the main requirements along with the storage areas like wardrobes, showcases, drawers etc.
The colour coordination of the entire room might either be in white and steely shades or sharp bright colours put in contrast. All the decorations, mattresses, rugs, cushions etc are usually of modernistic designs with newfangled patterns.
Rajasthani Bedroom Decors
These designs are uniquely Indian and showcase the traditions of India specially the heritage heirloom designs coming from the different areas of erstwhile rajputana wherein you’ll come across a lot of rich and vibrantly coloured delicately crafted fabrics with the regional motifs, gota patti, leheriya and bandhani work on the bed linens, curtains, cushion covers etc.
Some of the walls are delicately crafted with miniature glass and marble pieces. The furniture and the storage areas should primarily be carved in wood or marble and we can have an endless number of furniture or show pieces decorated around the rooms. Even the windows and the little ventilators can be framed up with the traditional designed carvings.
Oriental Bedroom Decors
Oriental decors have always remained in trend. Most of us have been inculcating many of these design ideas into our bedrooms. Fengshui plays an important role in these decors. According to the Chinese thought it is a system of laws considered to govern spatial arrangement and orientation in relation to the flow of energy (chi), and whose favourable or unfavorable effects are taken into account when designing and decorating buildings.
The most important category to be taken care of in these decors is the lighting of the room. The decorative lighting should produce a dim and soothing light in shades of dim yellow or red. Bamboo plant decorations or wallpapers are quite common along with fengshui showpieces. Most of the furniture and flooring is done in wood or plastic with a wooden varnished look. The decorative items around the room can have some oriental scriptures or alphabets embellished on them or might resemble some pagoda like structures common in Bhutanese, Tibetan and Chinese architecture.
Tuscany Master Bathroom Decor
Tuscany interiors are quite in vogue. The interiors in this decor reflect a sublime yellowish, golden shade. The lighting’s should speak volumes in this one with the lamp shades being intricately and ornately designed. The cabinets, drawers, wash basin counter, mirror frame etc should all be in either shades of beige, yellow, gold or shades of brown whereas the wash basin and the walls can be created in a similar shade with granite or marble.
The upper walls might be simply kept in cement with some plastic or distemper paint of a sheeny yellow colour. Whereas the Bath tubs are not affixed in the center of the bathroom. The tubs get fixed in one of corners in the bathing area and the rest of the bathroom decor is kept quite over the top and ornate.
Gilded Chic Three Quarter Bathroom Decor
A gilded chic three quarter bathroom is a typical decor for the three quarter bathrooms attached along with bedrooms. It has to be gilded or highlighted with little pops of gold all over a rather pastel shade dominant interior.
The interiors are to be in pastel pink, green, peach or beige with all the lamp shades, mirrors taps, showers, sink counters, tiles, cabinets etc popped up with hints of gold in the borders or the handles. These decors are presently the most chic and elegantly portrayed or depicted designs amongst bathroom designs as these have a sober and suave look in them along with the beautiful gilds all around in filled up colours and patterns.
A kitchen is believed to be the place which should be minutely taken care of and designed keeping in mind the little vastu or fengshui details.
Modular L Shaped Kitchen
Modular kitchens have become the word of the day as more than half the houses these days come with an automated modular kitchen. A “L” shaped modular kitchen design is usually something like a kitchen counter design wherein the upper portions of the kitchen walls go missing with the kitchen being situated in a secluded corner of the dining area.
The walls in and around look distinct with mini glazed blocks or chips of tiles and the storage areas remain compact like the other kitchen designs but are usually stacked up with an end number of drawers, shelves, cases, counters and cupboards one within the other in a hassle free way creating a lot of storage space within a mini area.
This should have a proper exhaust and chimney fitting area to prevent any smoke inside the house and can further have a sunmica cover up in vibrant bright shades over all the storage areas, with the flooring done in large decorated matt textured kitchen tiles and the slabs in marble or granite of earthy shades. These kitchens can also be designed in an island form.
A Traditional Horseshoe Kitchen
A traditional horseshoe kitchen decor is usually in a “U” shaped pattern. These can be made over small areas or be stretched out over larger areas. Most of the cabinets and other storage areas are built in wood and are beautifully carved and painted following the age old kitchen designs prevalent since decades. The flooring might be designed in mosaic tiles, marble or granite whereas the overall colour combination is kept in light pastel shades instead of the wacky bright colours.
There are a lot of intricate designs or gilds embossed and embellished over the cabinets, drawers etc with the storage area being kept minimal. The exhaust, window and chimney areas are covered up in metallic sheets. This decor comes along with the walls and is never designed in counter style.
